On May 10, 1940, Germany invades Belgium. It is the beginning of World War II. Certain forms of solidarity are returning. what is happening in the Porcheresse region?
Porcheresse was spared from destruction during the German invasion. Many villagers flee to France for fear of experiencing the dramas of August 1914 again.
Several men residents reinforce the Belgian army.
From 1942, the region of Gedinne becomes the implantation zone of the Secret Army to which some of the men of Porcheresse belong. On September 1, 1944, the Germans launch an attack against the Maquis of Graid in Gembes, 17 members of the resistance are killed. More than 100 German soldiers died in this action.
The wider region is liberated by American troops in September 1944.
