The globe here on Chancellor's Weide was created in 2000. Its inspiration was the Agenda 21 process, adopted by the UN in 1992. The Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit called on the global community to work towards future-oriented and sustainable development. In 2015, the so-called Agenda 2030, with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), was adopted.
