The Veerse Gat was a sea inlet in Zeeland, between Noord-Beveland and Walcheren. It was closed off in 1961 as part of the Delta Works by the Veerse Gatdam. This created the Veerse Meer. Until 1961, the Veerse Gat was the entrance to the (fishing) port of Veere. Since then, this port can only be reached via a lock in the Zandkreekdam and has lost its significance as a fishing port.
