German World War II field battery on the site of a former brickworks. Together with the 'field battery Leffinge' it formed part of an advance line of the Atlantic Wall (1942-1944). The 'Stützpunktgruppe Oostende' was responsible for the defense of the port city towards the interior. Artillery casemates, bunkers, trenches and obstacles have been preserved on the site.

Mountain biking

Stutzpunkt Stene, a German field battery from the Second World War on the site of a former brickyard. Together with "field battery Leffinge", it was part of an advanced (three kilometers from the coastline) line of the Atlantic Wall (1942-1944) that, together with the nearby anti-tank canal, served as a so-called land front to protect the port city of Ostend against attacks from the land.
