The church in Erfde is located in the southwest of the church district. It is one of the three churches of the ev. luth. The parish of Stapelholm-Stapel. The natural boundaries of this parish are the rivers Eider, Treene and Sorge. They flow around the landscape like blue ribbons, villages, meadows and pastures.
The Marien-Magdalenen church shows a simple Romanesque style, the walls mostly consist of partly very large boulders and are up to one meter thick. It was probably built in the 13th century.
