The Binsheim Heath (or Binsheimer field) was created by the relocation of the Rhine. Formerly, the Rhine ran west along the arch Baerl - Lohheide - Orsoy. In 1799 the dike broke and the Rhine took about the present course, east of Binsheim.Through the heath numerous quiet paths lead to cycling or hiking.
