The brewery was founded in 1805 when the brewing rights passed from the monasteries to middle-class people. The brewery has been family-owned ever since. Beer specialty is the dark country beer. From November to January there is also a Hellenbock and from February to March a wheat goat, from April to October a wheat beer and in September and October the autumn beer Trimeusel-Gold. Seasonal also a smoked beer and a pale ale.
