Here is the sign for the Karlsschanze (popularly known as Behmburg) for the inner wall. It was the refuge of the residents to the Wallburg.

The Karlsschanze is actually called the Behmburg in the Volksmunde.
It is an old people's castle and served as an asylum for our ancestors when enemy peoples invaded the country. This old people castle has several earthen walls. At that time they were high and equipped with pointed piles.
To the south you can still see three earth walls at a great distance. They have decayed today, but you can still quite clearly see the whole system. After SO, the mountains fall very steeply here. This cliff slope was a natural refuge for the Wallburg.
During excavations, they discovered an important find, the stone pedestal of a building, probably the house of a Burgvogts (after B. Ortmann). The source of the castle is spilled.
