Vidiškės has been known since ancient times as an old mansion on Varnys Lake. The landowner Jonas Kaminskas built a church in 1828. In 1840 the church was renovated. The current Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Vidiškės was built in 1901-1906 and consecrated in 1906 by Bishop Eduardas Ropas. The parish was founded in 1921. The Vidiškės Church stood empty until 1933 and was abandoned. In that year, on the initiative of pastor Z. Žeidys and with the help of parishioners, the church was repaired and renovated: the roof was uncovered, the large cross of the tower was erected, which was broken by the wind. On August 27, 2006, the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Vidiškės celebrated its centenary. During the preparations for this festival, the idea came up to renovate the church, clean up the area and replace the pews. Vidiškės Church, celebrating its 100th anniversary, received the personal blessing of Pope Benedict XVI. It is a neo-Gothic, cross-section, single-towered church with a lower five-walled apse and turret. The fence of the churchyard is made of metal with brick posts. A cultural monument is kept in the church: the painting "Christ crowned with thorns and holding a reed" (Translated from the information board in front of the church).
