The Jette cave has many similarities with that of Lourdes. Under the statue of the Virgin Mary is an authentic stone from the cave of Massabielle. Inside is the marble altar which bears the coat of arms of Belgium and the initials of King Albert I and Queen Elizabeth, who donated it.
Notice the beautiful flowers that brighten up the forecourt. These are regularly maintained by Congolese ladies of the Legion of Mary. Just like in Lourdes, the grotto is lit by the light of numerous candles.

The Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes in Jette is a place of pilgrimage linked to Catholic worship, established in 1915. Located at 296 Rue Léopold Ier, it consists of a chapel, a replica of the famous Lourdes Grotto with a prayer esplanade, and a wooded garden with niches depicting the various mysteries of the rosary and the 14 Stations of the Cross. The rock is topped by a six-meter-high Calvary bearing a bronze Christ, the work of sculptor and medalist Marcel Rau.
This site attracts several dozen pilgrims daily.
