This former watermill was built in the 17th century and competed with the older Lukasmühle further down the valley. Destroyed by flames in 1982 - rebuilt and badly damaged in the 2021 flood. Open again on weekends since summer 2023. The gable on the main house is dated 1663. Beautifully restored quarry stone half-timbered building.

Closed for renovation work since March 1st, 2019! When I visited the mill today, I took a look over the wooden entrance gate. Weeds are sprouting where the outside catering trade was two years ago. I could not find anything that indicated any renovation work. Rather, I had the impression that the mill is currently uninhabited and nothing will change in the foreseeable future.
It's a shame, because two years ago the Mestrenger mill was a very nice place to stop for hikers in the Kalltal.
