Woffelsbach is a picturesque district of the municipality of Simmerath in the Aachen urban region. It is located on the Rur Dam in the North Eifel and is a center for sailing tourism on the Rursee, especially for weekend guests from the Aachen (approx. 40 km northwest) and Cologne (approx. 60 km northeast) areas 1. The history of the town goes back to the 17th century, and the oldest preserved farms date from this time. The region around Woffelsbach offers a picturesque lake landscape, hiking trails and water sports opportunities.
