Beautiful church in the center of Doberdo al Lago.
The parish church was rebuilt in 1925 and has a neo-Romanesque façade, in exposed local stone, as the previous one, consecrated on May 7, 1758 by the bishop of Gorizia Karel Mihael count Attems, was devastated during the First World War. Entering the church you are struck by the large painting by the Gorizia painter E. Galli, which represents Saint Martin bishop and patron saint of the parish. The side paintings (Saint Joseph and Saint Anna) are also by the same author. On the main altar stand out two little angels and the crucifix restored in 1995. They are unique pieces, which remained intact after the heavy bombings suffered by the town during the Great War and date back to the 17th century.
