Many cyclists and hikers are out and about in the Neißetal between Ostritz and Hirschfelde without looking at the wooden cross with the figure of Christ. This is also because the cross stands on a rock above the path and can only be found by consciously looking. So that the wooden cross is not overlooked so often, the monastery erected a column called "Abandoned Cross".

The so-called "Abandoned Cross" is enthroned on top of the rocky outcrop, in the rock a little below it a holy figure was also placed in a small grotto/niche formed by a rocky outcrop. This is probably a statue of the Mother of God.
