It is considered the Palencia river par excellence, since it originates near the provincial border with Cantabria and crosses the entire province from north to south, flowing into the Pisuerga (Valladolid). It is a fairly large river, which irrigates lush orchards and facilitates the growth of crops and poplar trees along its path.
