Amazing viewpoint with a great atmosphere at sunset. To reach Glacier Point you have to leave the bike at the trailhead and walk.

    Hiking

Glacier Point Trailhead is a fine launching-off point for hikes along the south rim of Yosemite Valley, or even farther into the wilderness. For most of these hikes, you do need a permit for overnight camping but do not need a permit for day hiking.

There is, however, a notable exception to this rule: If you're day hiking to Little Yosemite Valley you do need a permit, and advance reservations are strongly recommended. Read more here: nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/lyv.htm

Also note, you can occasionally access this trailhead via the hiker's bus. Read more here: travelyosemite.com/things-to-do/guided-bus-tours
