“The idea is to approach the relations between the different generations from another angle,” explains SlimSafont. “If everyone is aware that parents must take care of their children, I wanted to reverse this idea and this notion of inheritance. This young girl, with this magnificent gaze and this very expressive face, symbolically carries her mother around this foot which appears in the foreground. I had initially gone with the image of a boy carrying his father but after a greater study of the context, with the work of ECB representing an elderly man in black and white right next to it, I thought to myself that a daughter and her mother would be more complementary and would bring something softer to this set of three exceptional walls. »
