At the east end of Loch Katrine is the road access to the loch. There you can also find some tourist infrastructure (bike rental, tourist boats, toilets, souvenirs, parking lot). Two signposted hiking trails also start here. The lake itself has been immortalized by many writers.

Road cycling

The steamship Sir Walter Scott departs here for Stronachlacher near the top of Loch Katrine. You can take your bike on board and cycle back along the east side on tarmac that is closed to motorised vehicles except for access.
Bike hire, cafe and limited parking. Can get extremely busy, but soon gets quiet and peaceful as you cycle or walk away from the crowds.
