The church in Hejls was built in the 11th century. It consists of a Romanesque nave and a Gothic tower. The sacristy in the north is from 1781.
The altar shows the crucifixion and the twelve apostles and was probably donated by Bishop Wulf of Schleswig in 1471. The pulpit dates from 1560, the priesthood from 1722 and the organ life from 1822. The clock from 1807 comes from my hometown Rendsburg.
