For more than 100 years it has been speculated about the importance of this structure. An explanation of the state of affairs can be found a little further to the left of the Rinkenturm in the associated hut.

I came across this highlight quite unexpectedly. Super exciting! Who had built a fortress here and when? The speculations - which can be read in the shelter by the tower - go from the Celts to the Salians to the "Germans" in Roman times. It seems certain that the fortifications were built before 1100.
In addition to the sensation, the path over the hilltop is definitely preferable to the forest path.

Ring wall with a narrow entrance on the north-west face.
The Rinkenburg is possibly a fortification to protect the late 11th century castle. founded monastery Reichenbach.
Remains of the rampart and ditch have been preserved.
Dimensions: system approx. 110 x 25-45 m; enclosed area approx. 0.4 ha.
