At Santo António you will get to know everything about farming ananas. Farming is on a low scale and dates back to 1911 but the fruit produced is of highest quality mainly consumed on the island itself. The show room is stylish but simple and I learned that it takes 2.5 years to produce one ananas of this quality.

Large pineapple plantation with adjoining shop where many things can be bought; including fresh pineapple and jam.
We were also able to watch a film on the subject and received a very interesting tour from the owner of the plantation, which gave an insight into the development and the lengthy care from planting to harvesting the fruit.
