This small hydroelectric power station was self-built over several months. It is equipped with a water wheel made of steel and achieves an electrical output of 25 kilowatts with a head of six meters.
The fully automated system was equipped with a weir closure, a rake cleaning unit and an inlet protection as well as a fish pass made of larch wood.
The energy generated is fed into the Kelag power grid via an underground cable. The efficiency of water wheels like this is comparable to that of cross-flow turbines.
