When travelling along the Vouga eco-track, a notable feature emerges among the curves on the banks of the Vouga: the Ponte do Poço de S. Tiago, a monumental engineering project, measuring 165m long, with a central arch spanning 55m and measuring 28m high.

Built between 1912 and 1913, designed by Paul Sejourné and supervised by François Mercier, both French, it is considered the highest masonry bridge in the country.

The “Vouguinha” steam train, which later became diesel-powered, used to run along this route. On 1 January 1990, the line was definitively closed between Sernada and Viseu and the railway line was converted into a cycle path, the Ecopista do Vouga.
