ABOUT THE ARTWORK
For many years Flanagan used the hare as a starting point for formulating his ideas. The animal represents freedom, independence, dynamism, fertility, strength and individuality. The hare and not the rabbit, which is more likely to be expected in this biotope, has stood for hospitality here since 1997 and that is certainly a household name in our seaside city.
