The church was built in the 14th century. At the time of construction, the construction was dominated by field stone and granite cubes with the addition of brick. It was rebuilt in the 15th and 19th centuries, and the upper part of the tower in the 19th century. After World War II, it was unused and fell into disrepair. It was rebuilt in the 1970s.
