    Hiking

Grimspound is situated on one of the highest points of the moor. Once home to dozens of people and their livestock, the eerie setting was where Sherlock Holmes spent the night in the novel, the Hound of the Baskervilles. The remains of these 24 stone roundhouses date from the late Bronze Age (about 1450–700 BC).

    Mountain biking

This English Heritage and Dartmoor National Park Authority managed site is the most remarkable relic of a late Bronze Age Dartmoor settlement (dating back to 1450-700BC). You'll find the remains of the huge 150 metre diameter boundary wall, as well as 24 stone roundhouses.

Looking from the gate to the south on the bridleway, enjoy a corking view of Hookney Tor.

    Hiking

Didn't know anything about this and saw it from a summit - really interesting history reading up about it.
