The RevierRoute Grubenfahrt is a beautiful tour through lots of greenery. Let someone say again that the Ruhr area is just grey and ugly. We can't let it stand like that. There are well-implemented renaturation measures on the many former mining sites. The varied bike tour leads through beautiful green oases and past interesting industrial monuments. I can definitely recommend that you "experience" mining for yourself.
