            Hiking car park above the Margareten Gorge, a few meters further is a covered rest area with a view. There is another parking lot on Reichenbucher Strasse in front of the town entrance. I didn't see any sign, but the Margareten Gorge should NOT be walked downhill, so it's best to walk down the Gickel rocks to the Neckar and then across the gorge back to the parking lot. Kommot marks some parts of the gorge as technically demanding, which is also the case, the gorge is no longer a hiking trail, but rather a climb. A rock overhang has to be crossed at a bottleneck. But all in all, the gorge is well developed and passable for experienced, vertigo-free, agile and sure-footed hikers without great difficulty. Iron and/or safety ropes are present at critical points. The Margareten Gorge is well known, but during the week the gorge was not particularly crowded, even in the best weather.
