The 135 km long pilgrimage route begins in Idar-Oberstein and continues to Bad Sobernheim via Niederhosenbach, the family seat and possible birthplace of Hildegard von Bingen. Not far from here are the ruins of the Disibodenberg monastery, where the saint spent the first 40 years of her important life. Continue to Sponheim, where Hildegard was given to her teacher Jutta von Sponheim at the age of eight (1106).The pilgrimage trail finally ends in Bingen am Rhein. Here the Rupertsberg vaulted cellar still bears witness to Hildegard von Bingen's last place of work: in 1150 she founded the Rupertsberg monastery in today's Bingerbrück, which was the site of her work for 29 years. The last stops on the pilgrimage trail are the pilgrimage church of St. Hildegard in Rüdesheim-Eibingen with the Hildegard shrine and the Benedictine abbey of St. Hildegard in Rüdesheim-Eibingen.Source and further information: regio.outdooractive.com/oar-hildegardweg-naheland/de
