14.10.2018 - Unique the amphitheater, you can leave everything here without any barriers. In front of the entrance there is a large parking lot, here you can already see if the amphitheater is well visited. I like it when you can look at the objects in peace - I succeeded.

Great excavation, few visitors. Most is visible from outside. Entrance € 12 or part of the Carnuntum ticket package, March - November, 9-17h.
"The amphitheater was built as a wooden structure as early as the 1st century AD The stone construction took place at the beginning of the 2nd century AD, and the amphitheater was given its present form in the second half of the same century. The entrances to the theater were on the eastern side of the theater, and the west entrance was the main entrance, because the entrance to the legion was right next to the amphitheater, and both entrances were closed by large gates.
