The Großzössen pool is located near Großzössen, north of Borna in the district of Leipzig. The pool has a size of 9.7 hectares and is located directly at the confluence of the Wyhra and Eula.

The pool, with an average depth of 2m, is a remnant of previous mining activity. The southern and eastern banks are easily accessible and offer plenty of fishing spots. The west bank, which is characterized by bushes and dead wood, is intended to serve as a retreat for fish, birds and small animals and may not be entered. The almost rectangular body of water is primarily home to carp, pike and perch. The overhanging trees on the west bank are well suited for stalking predatory fish with a spinning rod.
