This hamlet in a picturesque setting with high cliffs was a bishop's seat in the first centuries of our era. However, around 848 the place was destroyed by the Danes. Remnants of Roman walls can still be seen, next to a chapel, the main altar of which surprises with an unusual representation of the Holy Trinity: the scene shows a sleeping Mary with Jesus at her side, God the Father sitting in the alcove at the foot of the bed, above which the dove appears as a symbol of the Holy Spirit.
