In the late Urnfield period, from about 1000 to 700 BC BC, Celtic settlers in the Styrian Alpine foothills built increasingly hamlet due to a favorable climate. At Kulmgipfel they built buildings, presumably pedestals with clay-plastered wicker walls, on house terraces, which were knocked out of the stone floor. The different house forms from more than 4,000 years of settlement history on and around the Kulm (from the Stone Age to the Celts) were recreated in 1999 in a Palisade-reinforced primeval village (ten reconstructed buildings with figures).
