At the weir of the Trenthorster Mühlenteich, a trail branches off to the southwest along the dammed Westerau. At first, the trail runs parallel to the water and looks attractive. But when you reach the narrow wooden bridge over the Söhrenbek, the fun stops. In front of it is a tree that you have to climb over. Behind it, the path runs parallel to the dammed Westerau and climbs a little up the slope, becoming a very narrow step. You literally have to fight your way through the adjacent undergrowth. You cross the Westerau over another bridge and a wider forest path begins, which immediately climbs in a curve and requires a firm pedal stroke. But be careful, the path here is paved with broken bricks. When you get to the top, you will find a fork in the path. Both forest paths lead back to the Stückendamm.
