Nice, easy trail on the southern edge of the forest of the cow paddock. From Bruhnkaten towards Bischofsteicherbek it goes slightly downhill. But also in the opposite direction it is a good alternative to the gravel path.

Anyone who drives along Reinfeld's forest paths may have noticed that there are a lot of mighty oaks and beech trees, especially at the edges of the forest, often lined up as if they were being pulled on a string. At the corner of the Bruhnkatentrail there is a particularly beautiful specimen, which has grown wonderfully. This oak has a trunk circumference of around 4m and is therefore around 315 years old. This brings us to the time of the Duke of Reinfeld. Oaks and beeches were considered lordly woods that the subservient farmers were not allowed to touch as punishment. The Plöner dukes made the former Reinfeld monastery and its surrounding villages their own and at the beginning of the 17th century converted it into the large "Reinfelder Tiergarten" in order to be able to devote themselves to their passion for hunting at any time. For this purpose, impenetrable hedges were created to separate the forests from the fields. Towards the end of the 18th century, Reinfeld was surrounded on all sides by a living fence that was a good 20km long. Shelters were erected on all passageways and the shedder had to ensure that the “rear”, i.e. the gate, was always closed. That's why there are many place names around Reinfeld that read Heckkaten. Bruhnkaten was also such a Heckkaten.
