Hiking
Laufenburg was first mentioned in a document in 1207. For centuries, fishing (Salme) and rafting were important industries in the town. In 1802 Napoleon ceded the Fricktal to the Helvetic Republic. The canton of Fricktal was created. But as early as 1803, the Fricktal was assigned to the newly founded canton of Aargau.
