    Beautiful church ⛪️
The first written mention of the church dates back to 1446, but the construction period presumably predates it. The core of today's church is probably still late Gothic. Baroque renovations took place in 1631 and around 1670, and in 1786 the church was redesigned in the late Rococo style. The tower was rebuilt in 1730, together with an extension with a gallery.
Around November 6 (memorial day of St. Leonhard) a Leonhardi trip leads from Murnau to the Froschhauser Leonhardikirche.

The pilgrimage church is considered to be one of the most beautiful small baroque buildings in this region. Every year on November 6th, the church is the destination of the traditional horse pilgrimage to St. St. Leonhard. A service with the blessing of horses takes place in front of its walls. The pilgrimage church was first mentioned as early as 1446. In 1730 the high octagon and the onion dome were added to the tower and a new gallery was built in the nave to accommodate the stream of pilgrims.

The Leonhardi Church has always been a pilgrimage church. This is also where the tradition of the Leonhardi Ride originated, where horses in particular are blessed. November 6th is the patron saint's day of Saint Leonhard and on this day Leonhardi Rides take place all over the Murnau region. This is a colorful horse procession that is unparalleled.
