Harbour Square Park is located along Queens Quay West, between the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal for the Toronto Islands and the Harbourfront Centre. The boundary between East and West Parks is not clearly visible.
Both parks are located on the waterfront, a site that was reclaimed in the 19th century. Historically, the area has been redesigned several times as part of the city's expansion.
Harbour Square Park was created between 1964 and the early 1970s. Previously, the ferry terminal was located here but was relocated to the east side of the park as part of the redesign.
