Part of the national cycle route network this 'road' is infamous with cyclists! The old tarmac has fallen away and left a strip in the middle. It cuts through beautiful scenery and there is an optional river crossing at one end!

A wonderful rough road, with a real wilderness feel. If heading northwards, stick to the road after the ford & bridge, the track to the right (south-eastwards) turns into a boggy mossy tussocky trudgey nightmare.

You get a real feeling of remoteness along this stretch of the sustrans network. An exhilarating ride on a loaded touring bike but watch out for the gate on the last fast downhill!
