The parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Mgarr was built in stages over an earlier 15th century church, and was completed with the construction of the large dome. The dates for the construction of the church "1912" and its completion "1948" are inscribed in bronze on the lower part of the bell tower.

Parish Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven. Beautiful place to have a break. There are small cafes around the square and it's great to just watch the liveliness of the crossroad in front of the church.
