At the beginning of the 20th century, the doctor Dr. Matthias Felderer drew attention to the sulfur-containing spring in Sand near Platt, which was very suitable for spa treatments due to its ingredients. He set up a bath house and used the water, which smelled strongly of sulfur, for hot water baths, full baths and drinking cures for the treatment of rheumatic diseases, skin diseases and circulatory diseases. Sulfur water is very mineral-rich, fluoride, sulfate and chloride-containing water. The mineral wealth can be explained by the fact that the water on its underground, deep-reaching path meets sulphites from which the various ingredients are dissolved. (Information board on site)
