The Kurchenbrunnen is a relic of the abandoned village of Altenfeld, which has not been inhabited for over five hundred years. And indeed, the surroundings are not very inviting. Today the weather is cold and wet, around freezing point.

But it was very inspiring for a hike on the Franciscan Way.
