Artus Court and Neptune Fountain, Gdańsk

The Artus Court in Gdańsk, a magnificent restored building on the Long Market, is an important landmark. Originally built in 1350, it served as a meeting place for wealthy merchants and nobles. After several conversions, the imposing façade is now in the Renaissance style with Mannerist elements. Inside, the 350 m² hall impresses with its Gothic star vault and a magnificent Renaissance tiled stove from 1545-1546. Although the building was damaged during the war, important works of art were saved or reconstructed, including Anton Möller's famous "Last Judgment" cycle.

The Neptune Fountain, erected in 1633 and symbolizing Gdańsk's connection with the sea, is enthroned in front of the Artus Court.

A beautiful building. Definitely worth a visit.
