Best Hikes to Artus Court and Neptune Fountain, Gdańsk

Tips

  • The Artus Court in Gdańsk, a magnificent restored building on the Long Market, is an important landmark. Originally built in 1350, it served as a meeting place for wealthy merchants and nobles. After several conversions, the imposing façade is now in the Renaissance style with Mannerist elements. Inside, the 350 m² hall impresses with its Gothic star vault and a magnificent Renaissance tiled stove from 1545-1546. Although the building was damaged during the war, important works of art were saved or reconstructed, including Anton Möller's famous "Last Judgment" cycle.
