Falkertsee is a small holiday mountain village in the Carinthian Nock Mountains with a beautiful, high-alpine lake and several lifts for winter sports. In summer it is more of an oasis of calm, while in winter something like activity sets in.

Beautifully situated lake with a beautiful circular route. A flying fox line crosses the path, nice to watch.

The Falkertsee is located at the Fuse des Falkert (in the western Gurktal Alps) and, according to the Carinthian Institute for Lake Research, is likely to be of glacial origin. It is located at 1872 m above sea level and is mainly used for tourism (managed huts, hotel around the lake, fishing).
