A vistor attraction since the 1780's The Height's of Abraham is a country park with a cable car, show caverns and a restaurant overlooking the Derwent Valley and Matlock below. There are no public footpaths within the park but you can walk around the edge of the park and get the views from the summit.
You might think you'll climb up the steep hill to Heights of Abraham and then visit the cafe there for a refreshment stop. Don't! You'll find a very unwelcoming set of signs saying that you'll have to pay £9 (adult) to enter to use any of the facilities such as the cafe or toilets. Walk by and back down the hill to visit any of the many options in Matlock Bath.
