The castle was built in 1864/65 by the von Werthern family and was their property until the end of World War II.
The castle and manor were expropriated without compensation, and the von Werther family was expelled. It has been privately owned again since 2000 and is used as a residential and commercial building.
From 1964 to 1991 the Polytechnic High School was located here. So I went to school in a castle. In the post-war period, the castle was u. a. used as a quarantine station and party school.
