The preserved objects of the Halsbrücke iron and steel complex include a part of the aqueduct for the amalgamation works. It was used for the water supply for the fire extinguishing system, which was installed after the complete burning down of the amalgamation plant and subsequent reconstruction after 1792. The fire extinguishing system was located in a central pressure water tower with a pumping station and, like the machines in the amalgamation plant, was driven by a water wheel. The water to the pressure station reached the amalgamation station and pressure water tower via an aqueduct from the Red Graben. The extinguishing water was pressed out of the nozzles at a rate of 40 l/s.
