The St. Abdo and Sennes church was built in 1877/78 by the builder Friedrich Rickenstorff from Wackersleben. It is a neo-Gothic brick building with a slender church tower. The equipment is included in the construction period. The church is surrounded by a wall built with sandstone blocks, which is considerably older than the church itself.
Abdon and Sennen were Persian martyrs. Only in Salzgitter-Ringelheim does another German church bear these names.
