Unfortunately, long stretches of the "forest highway" have been paved with extremely coarse gravel since 2025. It's no fun cycling there. The paths were probably "paved" because of the large trucks that transport the felled trees.
I use the path to cycle from Nuremberg Zabo to Heroldsberg as directly as possible. Taking alternative routes would require significant detours, so I put up with the gravel (up to 5 cm in size). Michael
