Let's take a trip in search of the areas that have so far remained outside the circuits of mass tourism with the La Terra Delle Meraviglie Association in a corner of the Lost Apennines territory, marvelous from a naturalistic point of view, abandoned by men who have sensibly continued to shape it along the Sentieri Ritrovati, covering the entire Angelini ring recently restored thanks to the voluntary work of the local communities. The route extends along the mountainous area of Monte Ceresa between the Sibillini and the Laga, starting from the Church of Scalelle located at 747m above sea level, 12 km away from the municipality of Roccafluvione.
The route is level E. Suitable for everyone. The requirement is a minimum of training, not particularly suitable for those who suffer from vertigo. For those who have never known the villages of Scalelle and Forcella it will be a fascinating discovery. You will cross chestnut and beech forests, you will be able to enjoy panoramic views, extraordinary views of the Vettore massif and the Fluvione valley.
Length of the route 7 km. The departure of the excursion is near the village of Scalelle (Roccafluvione) exactly in front of the square of the church of the same name.
Description of the Rediscovered Paths: You travel along a very short stretch of recently asphalted road (approximately 1 km) in complete relaxation and you reach a flat stretch of road that leads to the quarries, you continue the journey along a short stretch of uphill path up to the Bel See where a 10-minute stop is expected and then descends on a comfortable mule track for about 2 km to the Borgo di Forcella, a hamlet of the Municipality of Roccafluvione (AP) in the Marche region, the hamlet is 7.92km away as the crow flies from the Municipality of Roccafluvione and 13.70km from the Province of Ascoli Piceno. It is 84.91km from the regional capital (Ancona) Forcella is a medieval village perched on a rocky terrace, surrounded by a green ring interspersed with rocks in the silence of nature, we will make a short stop for a refreshment of about 30 minutes and this is where half of the excursion ends. We continue for the other half of the uphill journey, this is the most challenging part (approximately 2 km) but with a breathtaking view, overcoming a height difference of 230 meters and the Angelini ring ends. Continue crossing a gravel road that returns to the starting asphalt road (1.5km).
